The winners of the 2021 CAPE Acorn Blue Sky Awards were presented with their Award certficates by Prof Daping Chu at a short ceremony in the Electrical Engineering Building Atrium this morning.
The winning projects were:
- Label free multimodal biosensing based on guided mode resonance sensor (LMB-GMR) - Pawan Shrestha, Xin Chang
- Compact Pathogen Detector (ComPath) - Pelumi Oluwasanya
- Reconfigurable photonic crystal devices for wavelength-division multiplexing - Xin Chang, Mike Pivenenko, Pawan Shreshtha
- High throughput fabrication of photonic nanostructured microparticles from droplet templates - Kate Sanders
Each of the projects receives £15,000 in research funding for a 9 month project, led by the early career researchers.
